Laurel graduated with her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) (member #13124). She has had the honour of supporting numerous individuals, families, children, and teens within various community and clinical settings, including: counselling centres, personal development institutes, educational centres, and hospice facilities (adult and paediatric).

Laurel is committed to maintaing a practice that is sensitive to diversity and dedicated to client advocacy. Holding personal autonomy in the highest esteem, Laurel takes a collaborative approach with clients on their goals and therapeutic pace. Her therapeutic approaches are evidence-based and vary according to clients’ needs:

Laurel tailors her approach across a range of modalities (e.g. discussion, music, play, nature walks) and has supported individuals living with: physical disabilities, chronic pain, developmental disabilities, autism, and FASD. Her specialties include: anxiety management, depression, stress inoculation, grief and bereavement, relationship issues, and exploring authentic selves.

Outside of session, Laurel can be found going on walks with some of the beloved dogs in her life, running, teaching AP Psychology, and staying up-to-date on the latest Astronomy news.
