Teaching Aide for Learning Acupuncture

Acupuncture restores balance to the body and mind. This is done by placing very small, thin, sterile needles along energy pathways called meridians. These meridian lines send powerful messages to our body promoting a harmonious relationship bewteen our vital organs and our mind. Treating the body in this manner allows the acupuncturist to address the root cause of your health issues, going further then simply covering up your symptoms!

The underlining principle of acupuncture is based on the concept of Qi (pronounced chi). Qi is seen as the natural force within us all, an energy system that must be kept in balance and allowed to flow otherwise illness may occur. The acupuncturists goal is to remove energy blockages, thereby promoting a healthy circulation of Qi. This goal is reflected in the Chinese saying Bu tong ze tong, tong ze bu tong: free flow no pain, no free flow pain.”
